The election for mayor of the city of Offenburg is drawing nearer.

It will take place on October 11, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the respective polling places. A polling place finder is available on the website www.offenburg.de/wahlen.

Voter registration notices are currently being mailed out through September 20, 2026. Voters who have not received a voter registration notice by that date but believe they are listed on the voter registry should contact the Election Office (see below for contact information).

Anyone who chooses to vote by mail can submit an application online at www.offenburg.link/briefwahl.

If you would prefer to apply for a postal vote in writing, you can fill out the application form on the back of the election notification and hand it in at the Historic Town Hall (Hauptstraße 90) or drop it in the letterbox there. Alternatively, the postal vote application form can also be handed in at the Citizens’ Office during opening hours (Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm, Saturday 8 am to 12 noon). Even though the staff at the Citizens’ Office will do their best to provide adequate information, the City of Offenburg asks that you contact the electoral office with any further questions you may have about the elections (contact details: see below).

Starting Monday, September 21, you will also be able to use the election counter at the Citizens’ Office. There, you can pick up your mail-in ballot materials immediately after submitting your application, or fill them out and submit them on the spot.
